Brugmansia 'Minneola Sunrise' x 'Daydreams'

In my previous blog post I featured Sommer Garden's most recent Angel Trumpet introduction, Brugmansia 'Minneola Sunrise'.  I already have second generation seedlings blooming from crosses made with 'Minneola Sunrise', and here's my favorite to date;

A Flaming Angel Trumpet

A quick glance at this new Angel Trumpet seedling gives you the impression the bloom is on fire!  This super-sized bloom is from a cross I made between Brugmansia  ('Inca Sun' x 'Lemon Meringue') x 'Herbstzauber'.So far the long corolla teeth have not re-curved so the illusion of flames continues through the bloom cycle.  These photos were captured a few weeks ago when the weather was still warm.  This seedling is starting a new bloom cycle now and with our cooler nights, the new blooms are ...

Some fall color amongst my Angel Trumpets

Looks like I have another nice double orange Angel Trumpet seedling to place in my watch zone. This seedling is from a cross I made between Brugmansia 'New Orleans Lady' x 'Bert'.The plant is healthy and a robust grower and the blooms fairly large. I took these photos last week when the weather was still summer-like, and as you can see, the blooms held up well in the heat. I bet the bloom color will deepen to a brighter orange when the next flush of blooms appear during cooler weather.  Even ...

Brugmansia Inca Sun X Angels Goldface

Here's another Angel Trumpet seedling from a cross I made between Brugmansia Inca Sun X Angels Goldface.   When you look at the bloom face it has a very strong resemblance to its father, Brugmansia Angels Goldface.
