A monster amongst my Brugmansia

When this Angel Trumpet seedling started producing its first flower bud I knew it was going to be special.  The bud was gigantic, especially for a first time bloom.  When it finally opened it was one of the largest brugmansia blooms I had seen.  The cross is Brugmansia 'Painted Lady' x 'Carousel'.

paintedladyxcarousel.jpgBrugmansia 'Painted Lady' has above average sized blooms, but this bloom was even larger than those. Because this was the first bloom on this seedling you never know if it
was just an anomaly or if super sized blooms will be the norm. A couple more buds are starting to expand and I'll anxiously be watching to see how those blooms evolve.
