Introducing Brugmansia 'Pink Ruffles'

This angel Trumpet has been in my watch zone for three years, and now it has proudly earned keeper status.  Introducing Brugmansia 'Pink Ruffles', recently registered through the International Brugmansia and Datura Society (iBrugs.com),

pink ruffles - 6.jpgThis seedling is from a cross made between Brugmansia 'Color Point' and 'Double Dark Rosetta', by German hybridizer Volker Sanders.

pinkruffles-6.jpgThe blooms are all doubles with separated and flouncy skirts. At first they start out a nice soft pink, with the color deepening as the bloom matures.

pink ruffles - 5.jpgVolker's cross of Color Point and Double Dark Rosetta has yielded some interesting seedlings, several of which are still in my watch zone.  Later this month I will be naming and registering one of Pink Ruffle's siblings, a beautiful single yellow.
