The Blue Jay of Happiness?

While everyone knows of the Blue Bird of happiness, well I've encountered the Blue Jay of happiness.  This cutie has been hanging out in a group of my older brugmansia seedlings for a couple of weeks now.  It tends to hang out near me when I'm out there and as you can see, it does not seem to be afraid either.  Could this be love???

Florida snow!

While much of the east coast is covered in snow this weekend, many of my brugmansia were dusted with what can only be called 'Florida Snow'.  This snow is actually a shower of stamens from a couple of nearby giant eucalyptus trees that happen to be in bloom right now.  At least this snow will not harm my plants!

Where is our fall weather???

Geeze, what's up with this weather.  I went out at 12:30am to look for new blooms and the temperature was 81 degrees out!!!  That is about 10 degrees warmer than it should be for this time of year.Orlando set a new record high of 93 on Sunday.   It was actually a couple degrees warmer out here in Clermont. The good news is that a cold front is supposed to come down next weekend and drop our temps down to the normal zone for October.I'm ready!

Coming home to lotsa blooms!

Sorry for the lack of new seedling posts, but I had to head out of town for work.  After five days on the road, I was pleasantly surprised to come home yesterday to lots of new angel trumpet blooms.  Many are just common whites, but several are worthy of posting on here and watching for the rest of the season.Stay tuned for today's featured seedling...

Back on track.....

I hope! For the past few months I have encountered major web issues with our current host that has rendered my blog useless. Hopefully that is behind me know and I can start posting again.  I think my blog will be a useful tool for posting pictures and comments on new brug seedlings as they evolve.  After this past winter's devastating freezes, my seedlings have rebounded and almost everyday I am greeted with new blooms.  Watch for plenty of new pictures starting this week!

What a busy year!

There's a reason why my garden blog has become stagnant, it's called too much nice weather!  When the weather's nice outside, I spend all my free time working on my plants. Then when I'm done I'm too tired to blog.  I figure I have just under 9,000 brugmansia seedlings growing now.  I'm not sure why I let this number get so out of control, but every time I have a seedling bloom that is a potential keeper it makes it all worthwhile.I have lots of notes and pictures to share in the new year so ...
