A fluffy Halloween Orange Angel Trumpet

After several weeks of cool weather, my Angel Trumpet seedlings are finally switching into bloom mode.  Everyday I find more and more surprises like these blooms on a cross I made between Brugmansia Creamsicle and Shooting Star.

creamsiclexshootingstar.jpgI expect the blooms to color up even more as cool weather settles in.  The blooms pictured are the first ones to appear on this seedling and were part of a mini-flush of 8 blooms.  The blooms have a pleasant fragrance and are holding up well.

creamsiclexshootingstar-2.jpgMy Shooting Star Angel Trumpet happens to be in bloom right now so I crossed them both back to each other to see what the second generation may bring.  Our temperatures recently rose back up to 90 so I doubt the cross will take this time around.  If it doesn't, I'll be ready to try again during their next bloom cycle.
