Sommer Gardens / Sunday, December 27, 2009 / Categories: Brugmansia, Seedlings Another pink Angel Trumpet to watch in 2011 When I first started growing Angel Trumpets from seed, I expected most to turn-out to be single whites that would eventually have to be composted....at least that is what I read on all the brugmansia forums. For the first two years that was not the case as pink prevailed and was the dominate color in my seedlings. One single pink I carried over from last year was this seedling from a cross involving Brugmansia Earth Angel x Pink Smitty,What I really liked about it was its soft pink color and the waxy texture and great form of the blooms. A thick and waxy bloom usually equates to better heat tolerance. I already have three single pinks that I plan to name and register this fall, so this seedling will be carried over to 2011 for future observation. While the past two years have been pink years for my seedlings, this year is definitely going to be a white year. I know I'm, going to have a mountain of whites in my compost pile when I start culling next month. Time for another Angel Trumpet two for Tuesday! Another one gets away!
