Brugmansia 'New Orleans Lady' x 'Tootsie'

An Angel Trumpet seedling from a cross I made between Brugmansia 'New Orleans Lady' x 'Tootsie' has been a prolific bloomer with Tootsie-sized blooms.

neworleansladyxtootsie.jpgIn its first bloom flush at least 15 blooms were open at once, quite impressive for a first time bloomer.  The blooms start out white/cream and then slowly turn orange as they mature. Both 'New Orleans Lady' and 'Tootsie' have similar coloration.

neworleansladyxtootsie-2.jpgI don't have a great sense of smell but I could easily detect a strong fragrance in this seedling.

neworleansladyxtootsie-3.jpgI have a bunch more seedlings from this cross, and a reverse cross of the same parents, that should be blooming this winter.  I'm really curious to see if the blooms of the reverse cross look similar to these.  Meanwhile I plan to watch this one through the winter to see how it evolves.
