A couple nights ago I couldn't sleep so I decided to venture out in my nursery in the wee hours of the morning to check for new brugmansia blooms. Instead of finding new blooms I found nightmare material, giant slugs!Luckily most were on the outside of my shade house, trying to find a way in, I'll have to do some slug research because I have no idea why the one below is grey. You can see why they want in, look at that yummy lush green foliage waiting to be eaten. The snail was luckier as it was able to munch on some of the foliage through the screen. Slugs are the grossest of all the pests I encounter in my nursery. Here's a view from the inside looking out....yuch!A couple did manage to find their way inside and were feasting on my plants. It is amazing how much they can eat in a single night.It's easy to see where the slugs have been. Just look for their slime trail. I bet I massacred at least 30 giant slugs before calling it a night. Fortunately I only spotted two inside my shade house, the rest were on the outside. I think I better hurry and lay down some fresh slug and snail bait! When the gardeners away, the bugs will play...
