It is a cross between brugmansia Axel Rose x Genevieve. The blooms are what I call average in size and are a deep golden orange color. I have lots of seedlings involving Axel Rose yet to bloom and it will be interesting to see if any break out of the yellow-orange trend the blooms to date have had.For those of you not familiar with Axel Rose, it is a green on green variegated sport from Maya, another variegated brugmansia. ... The plant is vigorous, the blooms are substantial and fragrant, and it is thriving in the heat. I'll cross it back to Genevieve this fall in hopes of producing a Genevieve style bloom with color. Actually it is a Sweetheart cross involving brugmansia Sweetheart x (Miss Caylie x Genevieve). The picture below shows a bloom on the first day and by day 2 the green portion of the corolla tube became white. I have several single white seedlings from this cross in bloom right now. They really put on a show when they flush. I'm certain at least one of these will become a keeper by fall. This Angel Trumpet bloom from the brugmansia cross of Mountain Treasure x (Miss Caylie x Genevieve #7)! When I first spotted this bloom Saturday afternoon I expected it to remain white as the five or six seedlings that already bloomed from this cross had. When I made my rounds on Sunday I was pleasantly surprised to find color. I like the curly tendrils and form so this one gets to hang ... It is a cross between Miss Caylie and Genevieve and is one of several plants I have growing from this cross. Here's what the flowers looked like when the plant first bloomed in November. It was so ugly it almost ended up in the compost pile. Knowing that the first blooms a seedling produces may not resemble the flowers the plant produces as it matures, I decided to let the plant stay for a couple more rounds of blooms. Over the weekend the second ... Categories:HybridizingBrugmansiaSeedlings Tags:Brugmansiabrugsgenevievemiss caylieseedling Read more
