Another golden Brugmansia moves to my watch zone

After a lull in blooms, mainly due to the summer heat, my Angel Trumpet seedlings are starting to set buds again!  Here is one that caught my attention this weekend.  It is a seedling from a cross I made between Brugmansia Angels Summerset x (Terri Schindler Shiavo x New Orleans Lady).

angelssummersetxterishiavoxneworleanslady-2.jpgThe rich golden yellow color extends all the way up the corolla tube and the color was consistent through the life of the bloom. The blooms are average in size with good substance.

angelssummersetxterishiavoxneworleanslady.jpgThe father of this seedling, Brugmansia Terri Schindler Shiavo x New Orleans Lady, was one I had great hopes for.  Unfortunately I lost that seedling a couple of years ago during a winter freeze. Fortunately I made a bunch of crosses with it so its genes live on and are able to influence future generations of brugmansia.

angelssummersetxterishiavoxneworleanslady-3.jpgI'm curious to see what the color does in cooler weather.  It already has more summer color than its mother, Angels Summerset.  Its father, Brugmansia Terri Schindler Shiavo x New Orleans Lady Angel, was a similar color to this seedling in the warm summer months, but turned orange when the nights were cool.

This seedling has earned a spot in my watch zone!
