I took these photos last week when the weather was still summer-like, and as you can see, the blooms held up well in the heat. I bet the bloom color will deepen to a brighter orange when the next flush of blooms appear during cooler weather. Even ... Here's a beautiful new Angel Trumpet I would like to register, but first it needs a name. This seedling is from a cross made by nature, most likely by honey bees or moths. The pod parent is Brugmansia Orange Zest. This seedling first started blooming in 2009 and really put on quite a show. When you are trying to germinate Angel Trumpets from seed, it is important to have a full-time sentry around to make sure insects, snails and slugs are kept at bay. I was fortunate to be able to solicit the help of this small tree frog to watch over my recent batch of community pots. In return for his diligent surveillance, he is offered the protection of being under the protective screen I have in place to keep the birds from plucking the seedlings out of the pots. This synergistic ... Categories:Uncategorized Tags:Angel Trumpetbrugmansia seedlingstree frog Read more
