Here's a nice double pink Angel Trumpet seedling that has been in my watch zone for a couple of years now.  The seedling is from a Brenda Delph cross of Brugmansia Genevieve x Rothkirch.I like the soft pink color of the blooms and the crazy corolla teeth. This seedling has been a consistent bloomer, always producing triple skirted blooms.The bloom color intensifies from what is shown in the photos. I took these photos when the blooms first opened.  Afterwards the blooms were sliced open for pollinating.

 

One of the more elegant double white Angel Trumpet seedlings I encountered this season was this one from a cross I made between Brugmansia Sweetheart and (Miss Caylie x Genevieve 7).The bloom on this cross is much larger than Brugmansia Sweetheart and has the flouncy look found in its father, Brugmansia Miss Caylie x Genevieve.  Despite our recent cool spell, the blooms remained white through their life span.  I plan on carrying this one over to 2012 for sure!

This Brugmansia Orange Zest x Genevieve seedling has been putting on quite a show lately.  The unusual bloom form is unlike any I have seen before.  The inner corolla skirt is at least twice as wide as the outer skirt and it fans out about 8-9" across.  When you factor in the corolla teeth you are looking at a bloom that is nearly a foot wide!I grew out quite a few seedlings from this cross and several have been special enough to make their way into my watch zone.  So far all of them have ...

I have several seedlings from my cross of Brugmansia Orange Zest x Genevieve in my watch zone.  This one in particular intrigues me with its rather unique bloom form.I believe this bloom style is going to hold because this Angel Trumpet seedling has had several bloom cycles with consistent looking blooms. This new Angel Trumpet seedling is showing off coloration similar to that of Brugmansia Georgia Peach.  It is from a cross I made between Brugmansia Orange Zest and Genevieve.The blooms start out cream colored and then turn more golden with a hint of pink. While this bloom is a bit ragged looking from our summer heat and thunderstorms, I feel this seedling has potential and is worthy of watching. While working on my brugs today I came across this seedling from a cross I made between Brugmansia Orange Zest x Genevieve.This is the second seedling from this cross to bloom.  The first one was snow white and I posted a photo of it earlier this week here.  At least this one has a hint of color, but it could certainly use a few more color genes from it's mother, Orange Zest.  The bloom was quite large and would look great in yellow or orange. This is one out of control Angel Trumpet bloom!  It is the first seedling to bloom from a cross I made between Brugmansia (Bert x Unknown) x Genevieve.It looks like something you would only see for sale on eBay. It will be interesting to see how this seedling develops.  Typically new seedlings with multi-skirt blooms will see the blooms evolve over the first few bloom cycles.  Often they get better, but sometimes they stay ugly or even get uglier.  As you can see, the second flower already ...

Today's featured Angel Trumpet seedling is one I carried over from 2008 to watch.  It is from a cross of brugmansia Genevieve x Rothkirch.  Rothkirch is a legendary brugmansia whose genes have enriched dozens of named cultivars.  What I like most about this particular cross is the rich pink color and that the color runs all the way up the corolla tube.  I plan to cross this one back to several of Rothkirch's siblings to see what the next generation brings.
