I've been watching this Angel Trumpet seedling grow and bloom for the past two years and decided it is ready to be moved from my watch zone to keeper status.  This seedling resulted from a cross I made between Brugmansia Pink Smitty x Rubirosa.This seedling has plenty of good traits, one of which is that it is a bloomaholic.  It is also a fast grower and has remained relatively pest free here in Florida and thrives in the heat.Watch this one to be named and officially registered by summer.

When I'm out snapping photos of my new blooms, often I do not see creatures that may be on or near them until I review the photos later.  While checking out some recent photos I shot of this Brugmansia Rubirosa x Sam seedling I spotted this tiny spider making his rounds.A spider sure beats seeing the pairs of eyes glowing in the background I often see on some of my nighttime photos.

This new angel trumpet seedling recently produced an impressive display of blooms.  It is from a cross I made between Brugmansia 'Rubirosa' x 'Ludger's Windsong'.As you can see it has it's father's style including Ludger's Windsong's crazy corolla teeth.At first I thought the blooms were going to stay snow white, but after a couple of days of aging they picked up a slight apricot color. Brugmansia Lizzy is one great brug!  It blooms more than any double/triple brugmansia I have in my collection...and I have lots.  Here are a couple of photos I shot last night.  Despite having 3 consecutive days of record setting high temperatures, the blooms still look fresh. Considering this plant is only two feet tall right now, Brugmansia Andrew's Gold still makes an impact. This one did not have a tag, but I am fairly certain it is Painted Lady. Good thing the tendrils on this Angel Trumpet bloom are not sharp!  Today's featured brugmansia seedling is from a cross of Apricot Reise x Rubirosa.  With its long pointed tendrils and rather industrial looking bloom, this seedling better calm down and smooth things out if it wants to survive in the competitive single pink keepers division.
