An elegant brugmansia seedling earns keeper status

I've been watching this brugmansia seedling perform for several years now and decided it was time to make it a keeper!

A super sized Angel Trumpet

This rather elegant, yet generic looking bloom is from a cross between Brugmansia Super Spot and Langenbuscher Garten. What makes this Angel Trumpet stand out from the others is that the blooms are super sized.  The blooms are equal in size to Brugmansia Miss Emily Meckenzie and Prince Charming, two of the largest single pink Angel Trumpets I have in my collection.  With such great parentage I decided to hang on to this one for a while.  Perhaps I'll cross it back to its father, Brugmansia ...

Angel Trumpet Hot Summer Flushes

I took a stroll through my brugmansia forest tonight and I was overwhelmed by all the blooms I encountered.  Even though our night-time low temperatures are breaking records (low's near 80f), and the highs are in the mid 90's, these plants are blooming like crazy.  The fragrance in the air was almost over-powering.Here is an assortment of the Angel Trumpets I found blooming tonight.  The first one's blooms are not really that special, but the seedling makes up for it with quantity.  I cannot ...

A Brugmansia marriage from across the pond...

Although not quite the outcome you would expect from this Angel Trumpet cross between German Brugmansia Friemersheim x Super Spot, it is still a striking bloom.  This flower had a nice golden color and form, and the ruffled edges make it stand out.  Seeing how this is the very first bloom for this seedling, I'll watch it for a few more bloom cycles to see how it evolves.

Look at the whiskers on this Angel Trumpet!

A new Angel Trumpet seedling just bloomed that had to have the longest tendrils of any brugmansia seedling I have grown to date.  It is cross between Bergfuer x Super Spot. The tendrils had to be at least 3-4 inches long!  The bloom also had a nice color and fragrance.  I'll be watching this one for a while.
