Sommer Gardens / Sunday, July 15, 2012 / Categories: Brugmansia, Seedlings A new Angel Trumpet seedling worthy of watching I was pleasantly surprised to discover this new bloom on one of my Angel Trumpet seedlings from a Brugmansia Joli x Charleston cross.The seeds came from German hybridizer Volker Sanders. One very interesting trait associated with this first set of blooms is that the inner corolla skirt is larger and darker than the outer skirts. I'm growing out at least 25 seedlings from this cross and I have had several bloom prior to this one. Although they were nice, there was nothing super special about them to merit moving them to my watch zone. This seedling is definitely one to watch so it has earned a spot in my watch zone.Stay tuned to see if other seedlings from this cross are worthy of noting after they bloom for the first time.
