This cross of Brugmansia Butterfly x Angels Exotic has produced quite a diverse set of seedlings. With 8-10 additional seedlings expected to bloom for the first time this fall, I'm certain the diversity will continue. This Angel Trumpet seedling appears to want to keep it's split corolla format. The bloom is from a Brugmansia Bert a Angel's Exotic seedling. This seedling has had multiple bloom cycles since spring and with each one all the blooms have been split. It would be cool if the bloom fanned out more, but currently they stay closed like the photo above. I'm not sure what I will do with this seedling. Perhaps i will just grow it out as a novelty. Every May and September you can count on these sex-crazed critters to annoy the heck out of you, especially if you do allot of driving. Lovebugs are harmless and are more of a nuisance than anything else. They do not sting or bite and fortunately for us, do not harm our plants. They like to feast on sweet nectar so that is why you see a pair hanging around on this beautiful Angel Trumpet bloom on ... While working in my Brugmansia jungle yesterday I found several ghost seed pods like this one. I hate when this happens! In our hot and steamy Florida summers, when seeds pods ripen they must be harvested quickly or you'll end up with a pod skeleton and Brugmansia seeds scattered all over the ground. This can happen in just a couple of weeks. However, when pods ripen in the winter and spring, the pods would just dry and could hang on the plant with seeds intact for months. While most of my brugs are taking a break from blooming right now, this Brugmansia Creamsicle x Shooting Star seedling continues to produce flush after flush of beautiful blooms. I shot this photo yesterday morning and as you can see, a couple of fruit flies are finding this bloom scrumptious as well.I plan to name and register this seedling next month. It is a vigorous grower and roots easily so it ... Categories:Seedlings Tags:Angel TrumpetbrugBrugmansiacreamsicleSHOOTING STAR Read more

She keeps producing flush after flush no matter what the high temperature is.Brugmansia Madame Bouvarie shows her best color during the warm summer months. This beautiful cultivar came about from a seedling from a JT Sessions cross involving Brugmansia Goldfinch x Peanut. It has been in my watch zone for over two years and is also playing an important role in my future hybridizing program. The raspberry is in its name because in warm weather the blooms are a very dark "raspberry' pink color.
