Sommer Gardens / Thursday, March 29, 2012 / Categories: Brugmansia, Seedlings Brugmansia Joli x Langenbuscher Garten Here is a seedling from the reverse of the Brugmansia Langenbuscher Garten x Joli cross I showcased in my previous post. This time around Brugmansia Joli is the pod parent rather than the pollen donor. This Brugmansia Joli x Langenbuscher Garten seedling has a very simple form and the blooms are very thick in texture. The thick textured blooms and great parentage justify me keeping it around for a few more seasons. The blooms started out cream and picked up a slight apricot color around the corolla skirt as they aged. Because this was the first bloom flush on this seedling, I'm not sure if the color will remain the same or if it will deepen as the seedling matures. As you can see by the photo below, the blooms on this Angel Trumpet are rather petite in size, averaging less than 3 inches across. I have already crossed this seedling back to Langenbuscher Garten in hopes that a future generation of seedlings will maintain the smaller size, yet pick up some additional bright orange color from Langenbuscher Garten.
