This is just one of more than a dozen seedlings I have growing from a cross I made between Brugmansia Shooting Star x Masquerade. The blooms are thicker in texture and as you can see, are holding up quite well in our hot and muggy summer weather. The blooms are medium in size, in keeping with the size of its parent's blooms. The plant is very healthy and pest free. I recall it having a light ... Categories:BrugmansiaSeedlings Tags:Angel TrumpetBrugmansiabrugsmasqueradeseedlingSHOOTING STAR Read more

While preparing today's featured Angel Trumpet seedling, I came across photographs of a sibling from the same brugmansia cross that bloomed in early October. I had prepared the photos to post back then, but forgot to create the post. The cross is brugmansia Shooting Star x Masquerade. Here's a photo I took in October of the first seedling from this cross to bloom. You would not expect to see a pink bloom when you cross Shooting Star, a single orange, to Masquerade, a double/triple ... While I was hoping for yellow, the snow white blooms and their wild and crazy tendrils still grab your attention. This bloom has a very strong resemblance to its mama, Masquerade, and looks like a keeper for sure. It will definitely be crossed back to Inca Sun this fall. Categories:BrugmansiaSeedlings Tags:Angel TrumpetbloomsbrugBrugmansiainca sunmasqueradeSeedlings Read more

I'll kick off white week with today's featured seedling, a cross between brugmansia Masquerade and Inca Sun.We know where the curly pigtails came from. Masquerade is a beautiful petite triple white with curly tendrils like the ones pictured here.A few weeks ago I posted a photo from the reverse of this cross, where Inca Sun was the mom. I ... Dazed and confused is a great description for these Angel Trumpet blooms. This is the first seedling of my cross between brugmansia Inca Sun and Masquerade to bloom. While I was hoping for an ever-blooming yellow Masquerade type, I'm not quite ready to give up hope. I have a bunch more from this cross that will be blooming this year and hopefully at least a couple will be worthy of holding over. I also plan to cross any keepers I have from this cross back to Inca Sun. Categories:HybridizingBrugmansia Tags:Angel TrumpetBrugmansiainca sunmasqueradeseedling Read more
