One of the more striking blooms appearing in my watch zone this week was this one on an Angel Trumpet seedling I carried over from last summer.  The cross is Brugmansia Cassies Curls x (Ludger's Summer Dream x Creamsicle).The blooms are thick textured with the deep orange color extending all the way up the corolla tube. Today I'm featuring another Angel Trumpet seedling that was carried over from my 2008 watch zone.  It's a beautiful double pink Angel Trumpet from the Brugmansia cross of Adeline x Rosalie.  This particular seedling was labeled #4, meaning I had several from this cross bloom last year.What makes this Angel Trumpet stand out from the other double pink brugmansia seedlings I have in my watch zone is the lush, dark green foliage.  The leaves are large and slightly serrated, and the blooms ...

A new Angel Trumpet seedling just bloomed that had to have the longest tendrils of any brugmansia seedling I have grown to date.  It is cross between Bergfuer x Super Spot.The tendrils had to be at least 3-4 inches long!  The bloom also had a nice color and fragrance.  I'll be watching this one for a while.

An Angel Trumpet cross involving brugmansia Cassie's Curls almost always results in curly offspring.  The seedling pictured below has an unknown father but you can still see mom's curly tendril genes carried forward.  This particular seedling had about 10 blooms open in its first bloom cycle and the overall look was quite striking.I'm growing out lots of crosses involving Cassie's Curls and I'm expecting some exciting results this fall.  Stay tuned...

If you like big blooms, then this seedling is one for you.  It is a cross between Adeline, a large double pink brugmansia x Miss Emily Mackenzie, perhaps the largest of the single pink Angel Trumpets.                        This monster sized bloom measures at least 10 inches across!  Despite its size, the blooms hold up very well in the hot Florida sun.
