A nice pink Angel Trumpet seedling with great parents

Here's a nicely colored pink Angel Trumpet that has been blooming in our record heat.  It is from a cross between brugmansia Rubirosa and Sam.  With parentage like that you would expect this seedling to be one to watch.  I'll let this one try and impress me this fall when I decide which of the dozens of single pinks I'm watching make it to the keeper zone.

Another Angel Trumpet with crazy tendrils...

Here's a new Angel Trumpet seedling with out of control tendrils.  One thing that stands out right away on the blooms on this seedling is how fat the tendrils are.  This seedling is from a cross between Brugmansia Coldfire x Rubirosa. I made numerous Coldfire crooses last season and this is the first cross to bloom. As you can see from the photo below, the bloom has Coldfire's coloration. I'm not sure which side of the family the fat tendrils came from.

This Angel Trumpet makes it to the watch zone.

It is always exciting when an Angel trumpet seedling blooms for the first time and it is a flush of blooms.  This seedling from a cross between brugmansia Rubirosa x Desiree did just that.I like the color in this one allot. It is a deep salmon color that jumps out at you from afar.  I'm anxious to see what the next flush will be like.

White Angel Trumpet Triple Header

While out for a moonlit stroll last night I stumbled across three new Angel Trumpet seedlings in bloom.  The first is an unknown cross with brugmansia Charleston as the pod parent. The blooms have velvety appearance and the plant is thriving under the hot Florida sun. This second bloom's cross has stellar parents, but you would never guess that when looking at the blooms.  This a cross between Painted Lady x Tiara.  The blooms are large and fragrant and the plant is quite showy when covered ...

Less than a handful...

Today's featured Angel Trumpet seedling is a mini as you can see by the photo below.  It is the result of a cross made between brugmansia Goldfinch x Rubirosa.  The plant itself is not a mini in any way and is actually over 6 feet tall in a 3 gallon pot.  The blooms are nothing special, but they do have a good substance and hold up well in the heat.I'll keep this one around for a while to see if the blooms remain small.

When color beckens...

Every so often an Angel Trumpet has blooms whose color beckons you from far away.  This cross from brugmansia Rubirosa x (Peanut x Mt. Magic) was one of those. I must have had a dozen seedlings blooming in the same general area, but this one stood out from a hundred feet away.If it is this dark in the heat of summer, I wonder how intense the color will be when the weather cools?  This will be a watcher for sure.

Worthy of watching...

This new Angel Trumpet seedling is worthy of watching for a few more bloom cycles to see what it does.  It is a cross between brugmansias Rubirosa and Desiree.  As the bloom matures, the color deepens from the color displayed in the picture below.  If my Desiree plant ever decided to bloom, I would cross it back in hopes of getting a couple more skirts on her.
