A Flaming Angel Trumpet

A quick glance at this new Angel Trumpet seedling gives you the impression the bloom is on fire!  This super-sized bloom is from a cross I made between Brugmansia  ('Inca Sun' x 'Lemon Meringue') x 'Herbstzauber'.So far the long corolla teeth have not re-curved so the illusion of flames continues through the bloom cycle.  These photos were captured a few weeks ago when the weather was still warm.  This seedling is starting a new bloom cycle now and with our cooler nights, the new blooms are ...

Some fall color amongst my Angel Trumpets

Looks like I have another nice double orange Angel Trumpet seedling to place in my watch zone. This seedling is from a cross I made between Brugmansia 'New Orleans Lady' x 'Bert'.The plant is healthy and a robust grower and the blooms fairly large. I took these photos last week when the weather was still summer-like, and as you can see, the blooms held up well in the heat. I bet the bloom color will deepen to a brighter orange when the next flush of blooms appear during cooler weather.  Even ...

Brugmansia Inca Sun X Angels Goldface

Here's another Angel Trumpet seedling from a cross I made between Brugmansia Inca Sun X Angels Goldface.   When you look at the bloom face it has a very strong resemblance to its father, Brugmansia Angels Goldface. This was the first bloom on this seedling so I'll have to wait and see if the resemblance continues.  As is often the case with new seedlings with multi-skirted blooms, the bloom form will evolve and change as the seedling matures.I still have at least a dozen more seedlings from ...

Look at the whiskers on this new Brugmansia seedling

A recent standout in my Angel Trumpet jungle was this bloom on a seedling from a cross I made between Brugmansia Axelrose x Marbach. The bloom color is a vibrant orange with a creamy yellow throat.  The corolla teeth do not recurve and the blooms are medium in size.We are still experiencing summer like weather here in Central Florida and the blooms are holding up great in the heat.I like the looks of this seedling and plan to put it in my watch zone.
