Now that summer is winding down, my Angel Trumpets are gearing up for the fall Bloomapalooza.  I must have captured photos of at least a dozen new promising Angel Trumpet seedlings in bloom for the first time tonight.

Considering this plant is only two feet tall right now, Brugmansia Andrew's Gold still makes an impact.

As you can see by the photo below, this new seedling has already earned a thumbs up!This bloom is from a cross I made involving Jamie's Monkey Business x America.  It bloomed for the first time last December and at that time the blooms were more orange.  The first set of blooms also had dropped skirts instead of the stuffed skirts I'm seeing now.  This does not surprise me because often it takes several bloom cycles for a new double to either get its act together or not.  Sometimes they ...

Brugmansia Seminole Moon carried its color genes over to this Angel Trumpet seedling, but it sure would have been nice if Southern Charm's double bloom genes would have had an equal influence.  Today's featured Angel Trumpet seedling is a cross between brugmansia Southern Charm x Seminole Moon.I plan to cross this one back to a few doubles this spring to see if i can squeeze a couple of nice double orange seedlings out of the combined gene pool.

As cold as it is down here right now, I'm giving in and featuring an Angel Trumpet seedling that is white as snow to match this crazy cold weather.  Today's featured brugmansia seedling is from a cross between American Pride and Dorthea.As you can see, this seedling proudly displays its blooms horizontally.  The blooms are very thick textured and have a porcelain like appearance.This seedling was a consistent bloomer this fall and its aurea style blooms make it worthy of carrying forward for ...

Today's featured Angel Trumpet bloom has edges and tendrils that almost appear as if they have been toasted.  The blooms are from a cross between brugmansia Axel Rose x Mountain Magic.Even as the flower matured the color did not extend past the outer edges of the bloom and the tendrils.  The bloom had a nice shape and was long lasting.  It will be interesting to see what this one does the next time it blooms.

Today I'm featuring Angel Trumpet blooms from two separate seedlings from the same brugmansia cross of Gemini x (Susanne x Rothkirch).  The first one has a rather wild looking snow white bloom and was obviously influenced heavily by its mother, Gemini. The second brugmansia seedling from this cross had a greater influence from its father, a seedling from a cross of brugmansia Susanne x Rothkirch, both single pinks.
