With cooler weather settling in, more and more of my Angel Trumpet seedlings are blooming for the first time.  Every couple of days I come across one that just wows me.  Here's one that really caught my eye this week.  It is from a cross I made between Brugmansia Jazzy and Brugmansia America. This beautiful Angel Trumpet seedling is also a carry over from last year.  It is the result of a cross I made between Brugmansia seedling (Jacayna x The Chief) #5 x Brugmansia America.Don't be confused by the citrus like foliage and what appears to be green fruit hanging nearby.  While I wish my hybridizing skills would allow me to cross a Brugmansia with citrus tree, this navel tree is just acting as a support structure for an overgrown plant in queue to be re-potted. This past week I have had several new yellow/orange Angel Trumpet seedlings bloom that show promise.  Here's one that made it to my watch list.  It is from a cross of Brugmansia (Bert x Unknown) x America.Unfortunately I do not have additional photos showing how the bloom matured because I sliced these open to harvest their pollen and then dust them with some other pollen. Last week during my Brugmansia Bloomapalooza, I was greeted by an Angel Trumpet bloom that took my breath away.  It was on a seedling from a Brugmansia cross involving (Jacayna x The Chief) #5 x America. As you can see by the photo below, this new seedling has already earned a thumbs up!This bloom is from a cross I made involving Jamie's Monkey Business x America.  It bloomed for the first time last December and at that time the blooms were more orange.  The first set of blooms also had dropped skirts instead of the stuffed skirts I'm seeing now.  This does not surprise me because often it takes several bloom cycles for a new double to either get its act together or not.  Sometimes they ...

Of course I'm referencing Angel Trumpet Jamie's Monkey Business, who happens to be the mother of this fine seedling.
