Here is one I just placed in my watch zone. It is from a cross I made between Brugmansia Angel's Moonlight and Bert. Here in Florida I feel it is very important to grow out any promising yellow/orange Angel Trumpet seedlings for at least a year before deciding if they are worthy of keeping. Yellow and Orange cultivars are more susceptible to fungal ... Categories:BrugmansiaSeedlings Tags:Angel TrumpetAngel's MoonlightbertbrugBrugmansia Read more

It was grown out from a Brenda Delph cross involving New Orleans Lady x (Angel's Flight x Charming). Here in Florida Marshmallow Sunset stays cream colored during the warmer months. From November through April the blooms are fringed with an apricot orange color. It was this unique coloration that inspired me to ... Thursday, December 1, 2011 / Author: Sommer Gardens / Number of views: 8878 / Comments: / Article rating: No rating Wow, a giant 8 point golden Angel Trumpet! With cooler weather settling in, more and more of my Angel Trumpet seedlings are blooming for the first time. Every couple of days I come across one that just wows me. Here's one that really caught my eye this week. It is from a cross I made between Brugmansia Jazzy and Brugmansia America. What is really cool about these blooms is that both have eight points (corolla teeth). Normally a corolla skirt will have five teeth, and sometimes 6. Having 8 teeth on both open blooms is rather ... I had an Alfred Hitchcock moment last night when I encountered a flock of Bluejays, one of which scared the bejusus out of me. You see typically I take a nightly stroll through my Brugmansia forest looking for newly opened blooms. Last night I was gazing at a group of Brugmansia seedlings zoning in on a fresh new bloom when a creature buzzed by my head and scared the bejesus out of me. I'm used to hummingbird moths and the like buzzing me as they are attracted to my headlamp, but being ... Categories:Creatures Tags:blue jayBLUEJAYBrugmansia Read more

This time it is a seedling from a cross I made between Brugmansia Angel's Swingtime and Terri Schindler Shiavo.I've been using Brugmansia Terri Schindler Shiavo as either a pod or pollen parent in many crosses recently. I noticed it appears to pass on some strong orange color genes and tends to help produce multi-skirt seedlings as well. This blooms on this cross stood out because of the long and narrow corolla tubes. ... Several have bloomed and all have had single yellow blooms. Recently I finally had one bloom with multiple skirts. Here it is and the cross is Brugmansia Sommerzauber x Cassies CurlsSo far I like what I see. The medium size blooms were a rich yellow with separated skirts. These were the first set of blooms on this seedling so the final look may change over the next couple of bloom ... I was totally surprised when I checked the plant tag and saw that it was actually a seedling from a cross I made between Brugmansia Lizzy x Orange Zest. Both parents have The Chief in their parentage and it looks like its golden multi-skirt genes prevailed. Let's hope The Chief's bad traits were not passed on. The Chief was a short lived cultivar that went into a quick decline. At the ... Here is one from an unknown cross with Brugmansia Pink Perfektion as the pod parent. The curly pigtail style corolla teeth and rather squatty blooms add to the appeal of these blooms. The blooms are also thick in texture which is a great trait if you live in a warm weather zone like I do.Another great trait of this seedling is that is loves to bloom and ...
