An Angel Trumpet seedling from a cross I made between Brugmansia 'New Orleans Lady' x 'Tootsie' has been a prolific bloomer with Tootsie-sized blooms.

 

Looks like I have another nice double orange Angel Trumpet seedling to place in my watch zone. Here's a nice double white Angel Trumpet seedling that grabbed my attention the other day.  It is from a cross I made between Brugmansia Orange Sunshine x New Orleans Lady.I like the fact that it has nice separated skirts.  The blooms are also thicker in texture which helps them hold up better in our Florida heat. When you make an Angel Trumpet cross with two classic ladies, you can usually count on some of the offspring being watchers. Check-out the corolla teeth on this new Angel Trumpet seedling.  The cross is Brugmansia Shooting Star x New Orleans Lady.These blooms have to have some of the longest tendrils of any seedling I have grown to date. The blooms are large in size and very fragrant. The color is OK, but it is really the long corolla teeth that make these blooms stand out.I plan to carry this one over to 2012 and will most likely make a few crosses with it as well this winter.
